literacy training to literacy practitioners in Saskatchewan (i.e. Come
Read with Me, Aboriginal Literacy and Parenting Skills, PRINTS (Parents
Role Interacting With Teachers Support), and Story sacks facilitator
training workshops).
- We provide Plain
Language and Proposal Writing workshops.
- We provide on-line
learning opportunities.
Consultation
and Support
- We provide information
and assistance in planning, developing and implementing adult and family
literacy programs.
- We provide training
and follow-up support on funding sources and proposal writing.
Sharing Information
- We host a toll-free
literacy information line (1-888-511-2111)
- We maintain a Web
site with current information about the Saskatchewan Literacy Network
activities and literacy information from across the province.
- We publish a quarterly
newsletter.
- We maintain a Literacy
Resource Centre with an extensive collection of books, videos, and other
resource materials available for loan to our members.
- We have a database
of current literacy programs in Saskatchewan.
- We provide electronic
conferencing (e.lit) to literacy practitioners.
Unique features
of this program: As a membership organization, SLN is connected
to most of the literacy programs and projects across the province.
The focus of the SLN is on adult literacy learners. |
