The report describes statistically the major aspects of women's lives, including their family status, education, health and work experience, indicating where significant changes have occurred (1970-1982). ONE IN EVERY FIVE: Published and prepared by Stats. Cda. and Sec. of State, 1985; 63 pp.; available in French. The findings are grouped into two sections. The first, "A Portrait of the Adult Learner," presents demographic and social-economic data about adult learners in 1983. The second, "Adult Education Courses taken in 1983," looks at the courses these people pursued. In 1983 about 19% of the population aged 17 or over took an adult education course.
