![]() Introduce women to the workplace in pairs, which is not a new concept but seems to work. For some reason, men tend to view several women as co-workers first, women second rather than vice versa. Finally, support, encouragement and information should be provided to a woman about her co-workers' expectations before she begins the job, particularly if she is the only woman on site. Many times frustrations can be overcome by being prepared and by having someone to talk to who understands the situation. It is likely that the representation of women in non-traditional occupations will continue to grow between now and the end of the century, as companies hire women to renew their workforce. Let us continue to build on the ever increasing successes of women who wish to do this work.
