Gifts of Wood

We will be visiting a local daycare to determine two things:

• where and how wood is used at this daycare (inside and outside)
• what small woodworking project you could create that would be useful to the daycare

Part One: Usage List

During the field trip complete the sheet below by observing what you see and don’t see (e.g. interior wall studs), and asking questions of your tour guide. Include all uses of wood (construction, furniture, toys, etc.)

Part Two: Floor Plan

Draw a rough floor plan on a separate sheet of paper. It does not have to be to scale at this point, however you need to indicate where all wood products are used on this floor plan.
Hint: use a coding system for efficiency.
