You can ask for employment insurance benefits for up to six (6) weeks if you cannot work because you need to care for a family member who is very sick and may die within twenty-six (26) weeks. You can take as much leave as you need to go to medical appointments
if you are pregnant.
You will not be paid for any of this time off.
You must tell your employer as soon as possible that you will be missing
work to go to an appointment.
