Life Literacy Radio – Episode 2: Literacy in the Digital Age – Interview with Michael Coteau, AlphaPlus and Susan Gillespie, adult learner [Audio 12:47]

Life Literacy Radio is an audio podcast launched by ABC Life Literacy Canada in 2010, and dedicated to literacy, education and lifelong learning.

This episode begins with a discussion of whether social media is good or bad for individual writing skills.

It also features an interview with Michael Coteau of the non-profit literacy organization AlphaPlus. He is also a trustee with the Toronto District School Board and, in that role, has called for phasing out hard-copy textbooks in favour of digital ones in order to save money.

As well, the episode features an interview with an adult learner who discusses how she balances her return to the classroom with the responsibilities of raising three children.
