Farewell...I am pleased to have this opportunity to say thank you and farewell to the members, tutors and learners, staff and friends of Project Literacy Kelowna Society. It has been an honour to serve as Executive Director of this dynamic organization for the past few years. Project Literacy Kelowna Society, governed by a progressive Board of Directors, has grown into an active, service-oriented community organization. The combined efforts of our Board, staff and volunteers have allowed us to fulfill our mission: to help adults achieve their full potential at work, home and in the community through free individualized literacy instruction. It has been my sincere privilege to contribute to this important endeavor: I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to begin my career under the direction of our founder, Maxine Veach, and to carry through her goals for literacy alongside my dedicated colleagues. I am confident that the Board of Directors has selected a successor who will continue this gratifying work. I wish our incoming Executive Director, Glenn Kissmann, the very best in his new position. The decision to leave Project Literacy has been a difficult one for me, primarily because of the professional and personal relationships I have developed during my employment here. I want to thank all of you for making it a pleasure to come to work every day. Sincerely, |
