  1. Use journal to keep an account of your lifestyle for the next week.
  2. Set up two sections: How I spent my time; What I Eat and Drink
  3. For the next 7 days, eat, drink, and act as usual. Don’t try to eat healthier or exercise. Your goal is to find out how you live now.
  4. Jot down the following:
    1. How you spend your time
    2. What you eat and drink
    3. When you have a cigarette or drink, if you smoke or drink
    4. Most importantly, how you feel (at these times) and what is motivating your actions
    5. Are you or just bored?
    6. Stressed out?
    7. Having fun with friends?
    8. Be as specific as you like, but it is especially important to keep track of everything you eat and drink.
