The program offers the following components:
 
  • Basic literacy (level 1)
  • Intermediate literacy
  • Family literacy
  • Job preparation
  • Computer training
  • Life Skills
  • Upgrading credits

The program uses oral language to teach reading skills. Learners in the program are motivated to participate in the program by a variety of factors. Some wish to learn to read to their grandchildren. Others have goals related to employment. Learners are provided access to the Learning Centre, computers, counselors, materials, and trained volunteers.
