The program is operated by 2 full time and 3 part time staff members. The program runs for 6 hours daily. Approximately 87% of the learners are Aboriginal and another 8% are Metis. The program is based on Aboriginal values in that it uses the medicine wheel, experiential and creative approaches to learning.

Provincial Training Allowance, fun, support, seeing other females who have completed the program as role models are ingredients that encourage participation in the program.

Learners are supported through counseling and intervention supports, workshops and top-notch consultants.

Source of Funds: 50% of the funds for this program come from the Government of Saskatchewan, CanSask. 40% of the funds come from the Federal Government, Canadian Heritage and Aboriginal Healing Foundation. An additional 10% of the funding comes from donations.

Unique Features of this Program: This program is unique because it is designed specifically for women.

Program Challenges: Financial resources, the Provincial Training Allowance (PT A), poor teaching resources, violence and family issues all serve as challenges to participation in the program.
