Creating Your Plan:
Strategic Overview
The Strategic Overview portion of your plan links the philosophy of
your organization with
its actions. Chances are, much of the input for this section already
exists in things such as Mission and Vision Statements, and more
general Strategic
Operating Plans.
Examples
Philosophy/Value Statements:
Our mission is to find effective
and respectful ways to help people in Ontario who have literacy
challenges.
In our
communications to the public, we will accentuate the positive benefits
of literacy, rather than dwell on the negatives of when it is lacking.
Basic Stance:
The Ontario Literacy Coalition is a membership-based charitable
organization that promotes and supports all levels of literacy in the
province of Ontario.
Target Audience(s):
Our primary target audience is
adults aged 25 - 50 with literacy challenges.
Our secondary target audience
is
employers.
Our tertiary target audience is
government agencies and other organizations that fund literacy programs.
