Summer is coming to an end. I hope everyone enjoyed the good weather and some time off.

I would like to encourage everyone who can get near a computer to log onto Alpha Plus and leave a message on the learners group. This is where everyone can chat and give lots of information. We meet lots of new learners from all over Canada. We help and encourage everyone. We even tell jokes! I'm sure your tutor or anyone in your office can help you.

We have an upcoming meeting in Brantford, Ontario on November 13-15. We would love to have more students come to our special event to join in with us. It will be lots of fun and we will learn even more.

Several students across Canada and I are also planning a special student recognition ceremony for the 1999 LLC Conference in Ottawa. This evening will be different than any other recognition ceremony before and we want you to be a part of it. I look forward to seeing everyone there.

If you are interested in being on the committee or would just like to talk, I can be reached at 905-357-2493 or by email at astewart@niagara.com

The Garden

The earth is people in the government and the Laubach organization.
The seeds are the students that are placed in that earth.
The tutors are the raindrops that help those seeds grow.
The seeds become flowers of many beautiful colours and sizes,
And create the perfect garden.
A rainbow appears over the garden and at the end,
Is a pot of gold. This is Laubach to me.
