Introduction

This section includes information and ideas on managing the human resources that are the key to a successful public awareness campaign.

Adult learners and community partners contribute significantly to efforts to foster a sense of possibility and personal empowerment in a campaign that moves people from awareness to action on literacy.

Reaching people by adding local flavour to an awareness campaign can be particularly effective. The OLC’s members have demonstrated enthusiasm and creativity in taking up the challenge of adapting the OLC’s social marketing campaigns to the needs of local communities.
