Other Promotional Ideas

Promotional supports for awareness campaigns are available through the OLC. Here are some examples of promotional supports that were available in the 2003 campaign.

• Posters

For the 2003 “What did you learn today?” campaign, the Ontario Literacy Coalition provided eye-catching and colourful posters that were posted in many locations to create awareness of the campaign and issues related to literacy and upgrading.

• Buttons and pens

Buttons and pens with campaign slogans are an excellent way to introduce the campaign and open the way for communication. They are used by community partners, volunteers and adult learners at events and displays.

• Public service announcements

Electronic Public Service Announcements (PSAs) are distributed to radio and television stations. These PSA’s are designed to communicate the campaign’s central message and are broadcast. Click here to see some examples.

• Clear language

Please use plain language if you are developing any additional materials for your campaign. On letters and documents, the OLC recommends using 13 pt Times New Roman font.

For more information on clear language please see OLC's Clear Writing and Literacy resource book.
