Based on feedback from the pilot campaign, communities will ideally need about six months to plan and implement the campaign. However, due to certain circumstances, this may not always be possible.

You can fill in details of the action steps, determine who will be responsible at each step, and assign timelines according to your own circumstances. Please keep in mind the three critical success factors for any awareness campaign:

  • the involvement of adult learners as the face of the campaign in the media (print and electronic) and at venues in the community during the week
  • the involvement of the media before, during and after the campaign in spreading the main message and creating interest in the community
  • the participation of community businesses and service providers in a number of different ways from helping to plan the campaign to hosting events to making bookmarks available at community locations to donating prizes.
